Wokha, Jan. 6 (EMN): PWD and Tritons CC won against their respective opponents at the ongoing 26th open T20 Winter Cricket Challenge (WCC), held at local ground in Wokha on Thursday.

In the first match played between GAPYO CC and PWD, GAPYO CC won the toss and opted to bat first scoring 133 runs in 18.2 overs losing all wickets.

Orenvungo and Renbemo made 25 runs and 12 runs respectively and contributed to the team total score for GAPYO CC. Zubemo and Mujbur of PWD claimed three and two wickets each.

PWD won the match by five wickets in 16.1 overs where Azmul Hussain, who was also the man of the match, scored 57 runs while Echanthung scored 23 runs to take the win.

Suben Ngullie (2.1 overs 21 runs) of GAPYO CC claimed two wickets while bowling.

In the second match between Blitzkrieg and Tritons CC, Blitzkrieg won the toss and chose to bat first, setting a score of 134 runs and losing eight wickets in 20 overs.

Khyothungo made 52 runs (not out) while Lanvung contributed 24 runs for team Blitzkrieng.  Bidesi (four overs 16 runs) secured four wickets while Arjun Kumar (four overs, one maiden, 12 runs) also claimed one wicket for Tritons CC.

Tritons CC claimed victory in just 10.5 overs where Among scored 39 runs (not out) and was the man of the match. Fahid Ahmed and Neehal, who made 23 runs and 32 runs (not out) each also contributed to the team score.

Zachamo (three overs, 33 runs) of Blitzkrieng claimed three wickets.

On Jan. 7 (Friday), Sesame jinx plays Ianur A in the first match while Dynamics take on Tempo CC in the second match.
