T20 WCC: Juggernauts, LCYO dominate their opponents

Wokha, Jan. 9 (EMN): Juggernauts and LCYO defeated their respective opponents by a huge margin at the ongoing T20 Winter Cricket Challenge at local ground, Wokha on Sunday.

The first match witnessed Juggernauts vs. Imperials. Winning the toss, Juggernauts got to work and set a target of 152 runs losing all wickets in 19.3 overs, where Anil Sharma and Lijanbemo Patton contributed 38 runs and 34 runs respectively for the team.

Shahid Islam of Imperials in his four overs, 24 runs claimed four wickets.

Imperials in the second innings of the first match were restricted to 101 runs, all out in 17.6 overs and lost the match by 51 runs.

For Imperials, Arijit Das made 23 runs while Mhathung made 14 runs but could not help the team to secure victory.

Sharma, who was the man of the match, collected a wicket in two overs four runs, Mhachamo claimed three wickets in four overs providing only 16 runs to the Imperials batsman.

In the second match, Kohima Hornbills locked horns with LCYO. Winning the toss, Kohima Hornbills decided to bat first and scored 52 runs losing all wickets in 14.5 overs.

Tapitu 18 runs and Potozu 10 runs managed a double digit for Kohima Hornbills, while Thechamo of LCYO in four overs nine runs and Phyodemo three overs 13 runs collected three wickets each.

LCYO quickly claimed victory in just 3.5 overs losing five wickets, where Renjanthung with his English willow hit a magnificent 23 runs for LCYO.

Vikato of Kohima Hornbills claimed a wicket in his one over consisting of 12 runs. Thechamo Odyuo was declared the man of the match.

On Jan. 10 (Monday), Hurricanes take on Dynamic CC in the first match while Lancer ‘B’ take on Blackcaps Tseminyu in the second match.
