T20 WCC: EYL, Hercules Club register win

EYL and Hercules Club registered win at the ongoing T20 Winter Cricket Challenge (WCC) of the 24th edition on Monday at Wokha.

In the first match of the day, EYL defeated Cosmos by nine wickets.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Cosmos collapsed in 16 overs, managing to score only 57 runs. EYL chased down the target (58 runs) in just 10.3 overs with Tsenpon scoring 34 runs (not out) and Victor 9 runs (not out).

Babul of EYL was declared Man of the match for taking four wickets in four overs, giving away just nine runs.

In the second match of the day, Hercules Club beat Forest Cricket Club by 56 runs.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Hercules Club set a target of 124 runs, losing eight wickets. Daniel (45 runs), Sushant (27 runs), Meren (22 runs) were the main contributors for the team.

The bowlers of Hercules Club Mokokchung ripped through the batting line-up of the Forest Cricket Club, sending them packing in just 14.5 overs. Viza took four wickets, Vijay three, and Sushan two to script a win for Hercules Club.

Daniel of Hercules Club, who scored 45 runs, bagged Man of the match award.
