T20 Cricket Tourney underway at Sechü Zubza

SECHÜ ZUBZA, APRIL 14

T20 Cricket tournament organized by the Sechü Zubza Cricket Club (SZCC) commenced this morning at WAPO Ground, Sechü Zubza.
Altogether, eight teams are participating in the knock-out tournament.
In the first match played today, the Kohima Capital convincingly defeated Don Bosco School, Sechü. Winning the toss, the Kohima Capital scored a huge total of 217 runs, wherein DBS fell short of the target just scoring 117 runs.
The most exciting match of the day was played between Skylark Club, Sechü Zubza and 19 Batch SCA Trainees, Sechü. Batting first, the 19 Batch SCA Trainees scored 129 runs. However, the Skylark Club after a shaky start managed to reach the target in the penultimate over.In the final match, the organizing team SZCC overpowered XI Vipers Kohima. The XI Vipers were restricted to a low total of 44 runs after a very good bowling performance by the SZCC, who later took just 6 over to reach the target.
The last pool match tomorrow will be played between Tsurü Royals, Sechü Zubza and Little Star, Seithekema at 9 am.
All the winning teams of today’s matches have entered the semi finals which will be played tomorrow.
In the first semi final, the SZCC will take on Skylark Club, while the winner of Tsurü Royals and Little star will meet Kohima Capital in the second semi final.
The winning team of the tournament will take home Rs 15,000 and the runners-up will walk away with cash prize of Rs 10,000.
