T.R. Zeliang flags off army recruitment rally in Kohima

Nagaland Chief Minister T.R. Zeliang flagged off the army recruitment rally at the IG Stadium Kohima on Tuesday. In his brief address, Zeliang congratulated and appreciated the Naga youth for coming forward to serve the state and the nation. He appealed to all the Naga people, already serving in the army to motivate their fellow brothers and to educate them about the positive culture and the benefits in terms of skills, discipline and personality improvements that comes from serving in the army.
He expressed happiness for the overwhelming response and conveyed his best wishes to all the candidates appearing in the recruitment rally “This rally will provide better opportunities to our youth to join the Indian army”, he maintained.
Zeliang remarked that the youth of Nagaland always had exceptional martial skills, where officers and soldiers from Nagaland have done the Nation and the Indian army proud on numerous occasions by displaying exemplary valour and gallantry in war and in other operation against antinational forces in Jammu & Kashmir.

Zeliang said that he expects more participation of Naga people in the Indian army and reminded them that joining the Indian Army is not merely as a job but an opportunity for serving the country.
The Chief Minister of Nagaland expressed gratitude to Brigadier Lamba and his team for conducting the rally in the state of Nagaland and assured them of all the needed help and cooperation from the civil administration.
He also complimented Brigadier K.K Roy Choudhury, Director of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement, Nagaland and his staff for motivating the Naga youth, by providing free of cost coaching and guidance to facilitate them to qualify in the recruitment test.
Brigadier K.K Roy Choudhury, SM, VSM Director of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement, Nagaland who delivered the welcome note informed that the rally which commence today would continue upto 6th March 2015.
He disclosed that candidates who qualify for physical and medical test will be selected to appear in the written test on 15th March at Rangapahar Dimapur. Different date schedule has been exclusively kept for various districts of Nagaland. Aspiring candidates from Longleng, Mon, Mokokchung and Tuensang are appearing in the recruitment rally 24th February 2015. Candidates from four districts i.e Wokha, Zunheboto, Phek and Peren will appear on 25th February 2015 while 27th February has been scheduled for candidate from Dimapur, Kohima and Kiphire districts.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Nagaland Home Minister, Y. Patton, Minister for Forest, Environment & Wildlife, Dr. Niekiesalie Nicky Kire, Parliamentary Secretary, Youth Resources, NRE & MTF, Khriehu Liezietsu, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Nagaland, Temjen Toy IAS, Special Secretary Home Singsit, Joint Secretary, Asangla Imti and government officials.
