EMN Dimapur, October 7 In yet another case of terror, abuse and threat to life against innocent civilians by the undergrounds, two persons, including a village council leader, are reported to have been abused and subjected to acts of threat to their lives by four GPRN /NSCN cadres in Peren on September 27. The cadres are said to have stolen a motorbike, assaulted the owner and a village council, as well as used sectarian language against a particular Naga community. Seiyhama Youth Organization (SYO) issued a press release on Tuesday warning of ‘unwanted situation’ if the authorities do not bring the assailants before justice. The SYO assured that it will not ‘retreat’ until justice is served. The SYO stated that a person Khriezotuou Thepa was assaulted by the four GPRN / NSCN cadres led by one Dinikam in Nkio ‘B’ village under Peren. The underground cadres came and took away Thepa’s bike after assaulting him brutally, the SYO stated. According to the SYO statement, the cadres started assaulting the civilian at gunpoint, and taunted him by using tribal slurs against his tribe. After assaulting him, the SYO stated, they took away his bike. Later, the victim and the village council secretary went to the residence of the said Dinikam and requested that they return the motorbike. Yet again, the GPRN / NSCN cadre Dinikam proceeded to assault Thepa along with four of his GPRN / NSCN cadres. The council secretary was also injured, the SYO stated. The ordeal of the two innocent civilians did not end there, the SYO narrated. After the assault, the GPRN / NSCN cadres blindfolded him and threatened them both with two options: “To chop of his head and council secretary into four pieces if they lead the news (of the incident)” and that they would be killed if he returned. The SYO appealed to the GPRN / NSCN to book the culprit at the earliest to prevent unwanted situation in future. SYO will not retreat until justice is delivered to culprit,” the SYO stated.
