Swineherds sensitised on African swine fever

Dimapur, Sep. 9 (EMN): Animal health camp-cum-awareness programme on African swine fever was conducted by KVK Peren, ICAR RC for NEH Region, Jalukie for swineherds on September 7 at Women Society Hall in Mhainamtsi.

During the programme Dr. L Babita Devi, in-charge head sensitised on participants about African swine fever and bio-security measures to be adopted for prevention of the disease. Healthcare and management of pigs were also discussed, an update informed.

Face masks, disinfectants, mineral mixtures, de-worming drugs, antibiotics and other medicines and advisory on the disease were distributed to the participants.

Similar programme was also conducted at New Chalkot, Poilwa, Deukwaram and Punglwa B during the month of May to August.
