Dimapur, June 7 (EMN): Advisor of Horticulture, Mhathung Yanthan inaugurated the vehicle dedication-cum-annual general meeting of Molsang Organic Pineapple Producer Company at Community Hall, Molvom, on June 6.
Yanthan congratulated the new company for “achieving so much” within one year of formation and termed farmer producer company (FPC) Molsang as a “great achievement,” saying that there are only 5000 FPCs in India, informed an update from DIPR.
He also highlighted the crucial role of the company, obstacles, and problems, and how they should work together with one spirit for success. Acknowledging that forming a company is not easy, he explained how the company should collaborate with societies and organisations.
The advisor encouraged and advised the villagers to take part in exhibitions and get into advertising as buyers will come to know through such exposure. He appealed to the people to take advantage of the favourable climate and produce world class pineapple and export to other countries.
Director of Horticulture Dr. R Elithung Lotha appreciated the people of Molvom for their consistency and hardwork towards pineapple production. While assuring support and guide in whatever was the department can, he appealed to the people to take “more responsibility of the rich soil which produces the world’s best pineapple.”
Principal Secretary Horticulture, M.K. Mero highlighted the subsidies and loans available to the farmers and how to avail it.
The minister donated two pineapple solar dryer to Molsang FPC at the event.
