Mokokchung, Sep. 27 (EMN): Swachhta Hi Sewa (cleanliness is service), a campaign started with a vision to keep Tuli town clean, was kicked off by Amenba Yaden, parliamentary secretary of Industries and Commerce, NIDC, at Government Higher Secondary School, Tuli town.
In a short speech, Yaden thanked all the volunteers and students of GHSS Tuli, who turned up to be part of the cleanliness mission. He also advised them to become ambassadors for cleanliness for the betterment of the society by actively participating in such missions and to encourage near and dear ones to be a part of the social change.
He also highlighted on the issues pertaining to the causes for the environmental issues leading to the deterioration of the ecosystem and asked the gathering to be updated about the ways to tackle the menace for a better and secure future. He also encouraged them to practise healthy sanitation practices and solid waste management methods.
Later, a tree plantation drive and cleaning of the school toilets and compound led by the parliamentary secretary was held in the vicinity of the school campus followed with a social work in and around Tuli town.
The programme was chaired by Rhosietho Nguori, ADC Tuli, and the welcome address was delivered by Toshilemla, Principal GHSS Tuli. It may be mentioned that the cleanliness campaign was initiated by Amenba Yaden.
