Kohima, Sep. 28 (EMN): The Swachhata Hi Seva and ‘plantation day’ was observed at the Kendriya Vidyalaya Kohima with Syamchand De, DIG of the CRPF in Nagaland, as the special guest on Saturday in Kohima.
During the occasion, Syamchand spoke about the importance of keeping oneself and the surrounding areas clean. He urged the people to discontinue the use of single-use plastic, which he said destroys both land and rivers. He stressed also on keeping public places clean so that citizens can breathe good air.
Brand Ambassador of the Swacch Bharat Mission for the state Vikehielie Victor spoke about the importance and meaning of Swachhata Hi Seva. He donated neem and mango tree saplings. The young trees were planted around Kendriya Vidyalaya School’s compound.
Teachers, parents and CRPF personnel attended the occasion.
