Swachh Pakhwada held in Wokha

Dimapur, Sep. 15 (EMN): Under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Wokha district mission authority organised a programme on implementation of Swachh Pakhwada on September 15 in the DC’s conference hall. Giving a brief introduction, Deputy District Education Officer (DDEO), Wokha, Sentinenla, said Swachh Pakhwada is being observed in compliance with Swachh Bharat programme aimed at spreading awareness among the students’ community to keep their schools, workplace and surrounding clean. She added that apart from conducting cleanliness drives in the schools during the 14-day long programme, essay writing and toilet cleaning competitions were organised with the participation of four 4 government schools. Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Wezope Kenye, said the students were privileged to be studying in the best schools with all the required infrastructure and facilities. He also urged them to be sincere and set positive goals and become responsible citizens. Sharing their grievances, the students drew the attention of the government to address their basics requirements. The Deputy Commissioner gave away cash awards and citation certificates to the winners of essay and toilet cleaning competitions.
