DIMAPUR — The Seyochung Village Students’ Union (SVSU) met with officials from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) on Monday at the DETT NITOI 411 RMPL to discuss the upcoming road construction project in Seyochung village in Kiphire district.
According to updates from BRO junior engineers, road construction is expected to commence within one to two weeks, weather permitting. The delay in starting the project was attributed to recent unfavourable weather conditions, the union stated in a press release.
Addressing the issue of road conditions in the area, Longtili C Sangtam, vice president of SVSU, expressed deep concern and emphasised that the quality of work must not be compromised under any circumstances. Sangtam also highlighted the importance of a proper drainage system.
The vice president also assured the BRO that the union is ready to support the project, stating their commitment to assisting in any possible way and ensuring that development work in their jurisdiction progresses smoothly. He mentioned that any challenges or disturbances faced by the BRO during construction would be addressed with the union’s full support.
