Surprise checking of offices will be undertaken: Kiphire DC

Longleng suffers from truant DPDB members

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he malady of truant government officers and employees seem to be a pervasive disease across the state of Nagaland. As with other districts of the state, Kiphire suffers from the same predicament. The deputy commissioner of the district A Chumremo Odyuo has requested all the officers and workers to be in station and tend to their duties. If they are found to be shirking duties, remarks against them would be sent to the government for action, he told a recent meeting of developmental officers.The monthly meeting of the Kiphire District Planning and Development Board was conducted in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner of Kiphire on January 5. The meeting was presided over by the vice chairman of the board, also deputy commissioner, A Chumremo Odyuo.
Chairman Chumremo Odyuo acknowledged the participation of the departments in the Republic Day celebrations but regretted the absence of some heads of departments. He pointed out to the board members the poor attendance of officers in the district. The administrator has requested the officers to be sincere in their duties and be available when required. He also informed that “surprise checking” of the offices would be undertaken and a report would be sent to the higher authorities.
The deputy commissioner reviewed the agendas of the previous meeting and broached the issue of opening a new government primary school each in Kiuro village, Amikioro village, and Tsutowong village. The district education officer had submitted documents of the stated villages concerning the matter. The proposals were submitted for approval. The board has approved the matter and the forwarded it to the government for onward necessary action.
Also officials of the establishment of the executive engineer of National Highways briefed the members of the board about road maintenance works carried out by the department along the national highway of Kiphire district. The officials said that the personnel being engaged in the works have been facing difficulties and inconvenience from lack of proper accommodation.
The engineers have requested the members of the developmental board to recommend to the chief engineer of Power to allot temporary quarters belonging to the Power department. The quarter is lying vacant in Longmatra. The board has decided to forward the request to the department for approval.
The medical department also gave a presentation about the various activities of Nagaland State AIDS Control Society in the district.
Longleng to issue show cause notice to absentees
Another district, Longleng, isn’t far when it comes to absenteeism when it comes to governmental work. A recent meeting of district administrative and developmental officials has decided to take some step to check the menace of truant board members.
Longleng The monthly meeting of the District Planning and Development Board meeting of Longleng district for the month of February was conducted in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner of Longleng on February 6. The members of the board have decided that members of the DPDB who do not attend board meetings for three days would be served with a show-cause notice.
The meeting was presided over by Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of the Longleng board Nikhashe Sema. The house also discussed ‘some agenda’ and recommended the following: Upgrading the government primary school of Pongo village to government middle school; extension of classrooms of the government high school of Tamlu.
