The first open badminton tournament organized by the Sumi Students Union DC Court area started today at indoor Stadium with Ex-candidate, Dimapur- II A/c, Lipok Ao as the chief guest.
Sumi Students Union DC Court area which was formed in 2014, aims to create a platform for the sports loving community and also to recognize the talents of the people.Lipok Ao speaking during the launching said that the initiation brought upon by the students is a major step that can bring the people together. Expressing sportsman as a disciplined man, Lipok encouraged every players to perform their best in being a part of the 1st open badminton tournament.
The theme of the tournament is ‘oneness through sports.’
Winner of the tournament will receive a cash award of Rs. 10,000 and the second will be awarded with Rs. 5000.
The tournament will mark its culmination on January 30.
