DIMAPUR — The Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU), in collaboration with the Highway Area Sumi Students’ Union (HASSU), conducted a one-day seminar-cum-medical camp at Operation Salvage in Heningkunglwa, Peren, on the theme ‘Drugs and alcohol abuse’ on June 8.

Yeshika Assumi, music director of Toluvi Village Baptist Church, was the speaker of the seminar, while Kabo G Zhimomi, president of WSSU, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the motive behind organising the programme, according to a press release.

Atokiho Sumi, president of the Western Sumi Youth Front, exhorted the gathering and acknowledged the efforts of the organising team and the Operation Salvage administrator for their tremendous work in transforming lives. He also appealed to the Operation Salvage administrator to initiate such steps in other places and districts.

After the seminar, a medical camp was conducted. Dr. Rongsen Imchen, medical officer at Heningkunglwa Primary Health Centre under CMO Peren, led the camp.
