Various Zunheboto based Sumi organizations have served a three day ultimatum to the NSCN (IM) collective leadership to physically hand over its erring cadres to the district administration responsible for December 21 incident while it also threatened to withdraw support and cooperation for non compliance from the date of the publication of the resolutions.
The resolutions to this effect was taken during a public rally today at Centre Point in Zunheboto town wherein various speakers have vehemently condemned the abominable act which was reportedly perpetrated by armed cadres of the NSCN (IM) against Zunheboto bound Tata Sumi passengers including a woman missionary and minor student. The public rally was conducted in the backdrop of December 21 morning incident near Aghilito village near Satakha town where suspected armed NSCN (IM) cadres attempted to rape and murder two female passengers besides physical torture meted to other male passengers and the driver.
The protest rally was conducted under the aegis of the Sumi Hoho, Sumi Totimi Hoho, Sumi Students’ Union (SKK), Sumi GBs’ Union, church leaders and civil societies. Various organizations at the rally have resolved to urge the NSCN (IM) collective leadership to physically hand over the four alleged NSCN (IM) cadres involved in the incident to the district administration within three days from the publication of the resolutions.
It resolved that failing to comply with the resolution within the stipulated period; Sumi community would withdraw its cooperation and support to the NSCN (IM).
It further resolved that no individual or organization should come forward for release or support to the four erring alleged NSCN (IM) cadres while in custody of the district administration.
Various speakers representing the Sumi Hoho, Sumi Women Organisation (STH), SKK, SBAK have unanimously condemned the barbaric act of the armed cadres, who unleashed terror to innocent public in the garb of national workers. One of the victims, a woman missionary to Arunachal Pradesh who also spoke on the occasion narrated detail of the incident she was made to undergo during the ordeal.
Meanwhile speaking to Eastern Mirror, general secretary of Sumi Totimi Hoho (STH) Kotoli K Assumi, informed that a FIR has been lodged with the Zunheboto Police, on Sunday evening.
