Dimapur, Sep. 12 (EMN): The Sumi Hoho has debarred two of its members, HK Zhimomi and Toniho Sheqhi, from all Sumi social/religious organisations and activities for six years, with immediate effect.

In a press release issued on Thursday, the organisation stated that following the appointment of Zhimomi and Sheqhi to their respective post in the new Naga Hoho team, it had served them 7 days’ time to resign.

The ultimatum expired on Thursday, it informed. Along with Zhimomi and Shequi, the Sumi Hoho had directed two other members, who had spoken at the Naga Hoho meeting, to write their apologies.

“In this regard, the two persons who spoke during the meeting have tendered their apologies in written, which had been acknowledged by Sumi Hoho, in good faith. However, HK Zhimomi and Toniho Sheqhi have failed to resign from their posts as office bearers of the Naga Hoho.

“As such, the Sumi Hoho hereby debars them from all the social/religious organisations and activities of the same people for a period of six years with immediate effect,” it stated.

It has directed all Sumi social organisations not to engage the debarred persons in any social and religious activities for a period of six years.

Earlier, the Sumi Hoho had asked its members not to attend the Naga Hoho meeting held on August 28 in Dimapur.
