Sumi Boys Club crowned champions of Altrura football tournament
Dimapur, Sep. 15 (EMN): The 5th Altrura Open football Tournament culminated on Sat. Sep. 15 at the Chümoukedima town local ground, Dimapur with Razouvotuo Chatsu, chairman Chümoukedima village council and Chümoukedima area village chairman association as the special invitee at the closing ceremony. This was stated in a press release received here on Saturday.
In his speech, Chatsu congratulated and acknowledged the Altrura Society for the successful conduct of the 5th AOFT for the youth. He said games and sports plays a great role in our society, a team may lose or win but that doesn’t matter but what matters is the spirit to develop a free and healthy competition among the players. These days the games and sports personalities are given the highest respect and honor, they were paid the highest and were the most popular personalities in the world so he encouraged the players to give their best and play with true sportsman spirit and excel in higher level as well.
Sumi Boys Club (SBC) emerged as the champion after thrashing Vidima Youth Organisation 4-0 in the final. The champions walked home with a cash price of INR 70,000 along with the trophy and Vidima Youth Organisation bagged the runners-up and received a cash prize of INR 40,000 and trophy.
CABA Youth Ministry was adjudged the best disciplined team and was awarded INR 10,000 and citations. Individual prizes: 1st Hatrick-Kito (SBC), player of the tournament-Kito (SBC), best goalkeeper-Eshang (VYO), best defender-Janghao(FC Pegasus), highest scorer-Meren (CABA YM)and Kito (SBC). They were awarded cash prizes along with citations.
21 teams from all over the state participated in the tournament.
