He underscored that jubilee is a celebration of new beginnings, renewal of Christian life, and a time for recommitment and dedication to Christ.
Rev. Kiba also highlighted the importance of strong faith in God, drawing inspiration from the biblical story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who refused to worship other gods despite being thrown into the fire.
The sermon also underscored the importance of youth involvement in the church, citing Jesus' selection of 12 young disciples from diverse backgrounds to serve in His ministry.
The reverend exhorted the youths to serve in ministry, lead the church, and spread the gospel, emphasising the need for social and spiritual reformation in the community.
He further appealed to the Sumi community to bring about social and spiritual reformation, leveraging the centenary jubilee celebration as an opportunity for growth and prosperity.
During the service, Akuto Achumi, Associate Pastor of Youth, chaired the service, while former worship team members led the praise and worship.
Kiheto Jhimo, IAS (Retd), and Kashito Yeptho, former youth leaders, delivered greeting messages. Y Kikheto Sema, chairman of the centenary planning board, presented centenary certificates to invitees.
The evening service sermon was delivered by Samuel Shohe, a former youth leader, who shared a powerful sermon, further inspiring the congregation.
The pre-centenary celebration is part of the church's year-long celebration for its centenary jubilee celebration, which promises to be a grand event marking a century of faith, service, and community engagement.
