Suman Tamang is winner of Kohima Downhill 2016

Kohima, Dec.4: The Kohima Downhill 2016 that is part of the Hornbill Mountain Biking Festival completed successfully in Phesama Village Suman Tamang of team Gnarly from Nepal emerging as the winner in the senior mens's category. Jordi basu of Nagaland came first among the women and Meguo Benny Metha of Team Native Station from Nagaland took the gold in the junior division. The prize distribution which was held at the World War II Museum at Heritage Village on Sunday. The Hornbill MTB Festival and the 5th Annual Hornbill Cycle Rally was organised by Native Station and Alaphra Group, supported by Nagaland Tourism and Red Bull. The event was sponsored by Giant Starkenn Bikes, State Bank of India with patrons Bolto Pusa, Lhouvi Mezhur and Viket Vizotha. The winners received cash prizes of Rs.1 Lakh and Starkenn bikes worth over Rs.80,000. Results: Seniors: 1st Prize - Suman Tamang (Team Gnarly, Katmandu, Nepal) 2nd Prize - Shakar Yakthumba (Gyanodaya team, Katmandu, Nepal) 3rd Prize - Gautam Taode (Giant Off Road Racing Team, Pune, Maharashtra) Women 1st Prize - Jordi Basu, Nagaland 2nd Prize - Lunili Awomi (Team Native Station, Nagaland) Juniors 1st Prize - Meguo Benny Metha, (Team Native Station, Nagaland) 2nd Prize - Apshai Griffith Niangti (Shillong Downhill Race Team, Meghalaya) 3rd Prize - Ronan Bazeley(Shillong Downhill Race Team, Tribe Fiction Apparel, Meghalaya)
