DIMAPUR — Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan (SUMAN) launching programme was held at CHC Yongnyah, Longleng, on Monday with Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak P, EAC Longleng as the special guest.
Resource person Dr. Imnameren Phom DPO (RCH/UIP) Longleng, in his keynote address, gave a PPT presentation on SUMAN scheme, a government initiative that focuses on the assured delivery of maternal and new born health services, an update from CMO Longleng stated.
Dr. Imnameren said that SUMAN is an initiative to create responsible health care system which strives to achieve zero maternal and infant deaths through quality and respect. The beneficiaries for SUMAN scheme are all pregnant women and all mothers upto six months post-delivery and all sick infants.
Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak, in his speech, appreciated the CHC Yongnyah team led by Dr. Banglau, MO, for working tirelessly.
He urged everyone present to contribute and stressed on community participation to spread awareness to the general public. He also urged the concerned beneficiaries to avail the free and safe services for delivery care and treatment available under SUMAN initiative.
The programme was chaired by Nungei M Phom, BAC Yongnyah block.
Short speeches were also delivered by VCC Yongnyah, pastor of NCRC Yongnyah village and president of Yongnyah Hongnyula .
