Kohima, June 22 (EMN): Team Secretariat United Football Club (SUFC) Bulls lifted the first edition of the Kohima Town Club (KTC) open penalty shootout, at the IG Stadium in Kohima on Saturday, June 22.
The club emerged victorious after defeating Sechü Zubza 5-4 in the final shootout. The champions walked home with a cash prize of INR 50000 while the runners-up received INR 30000.
Myingthungo Ezung of SUFC Bulls was awarded as the best goalkeeper and received INR 5000.
To enable football lovers in the state to participate apart from full time professional footballer, the KTC had organised the penalty shootout. It also envisages promoting the football league in Kohima.
Altogether, 37 teams from Phek and Dimapur participated in the penalty shootout.
Block Development Officer, Rural Development Block, Jakhama, Khovi Thaprü was the special guest at the prize distribution ceremony. He also gave away the awards to the winning teams.
