SU and TRAU advance in Manoranjan Singh Tournament

IMPHAL — Sagolband United (SU) and Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU) Football Club, both from Imphal West district, secured victories against their respective opponents on the eighth day of the ongoing 14th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial CRPF Football Tournament.

The matches were played at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Sports Complex in Takyelpat, Imphal, on Tuesday.

In the first match of the day, Sagolband United (SU) emerged victorious against Football Raengdai Club (FCR) Noney, from Noney district, with a scoreline of 2-0. The scorers for SU were K Arunkumar in the 56th minute and Y Gopi in the 90+5th minute.

In the second match, TRAU Football Club defeated Juvenile Club, Sagolband with a 1-0 victory. A Dinku of TRAU scored the winning goal in the 69th minute of the competitive match.

The Eastern Students Union (Wangkhei) will face KYVO Khunpham, Kwasiphai on Wednesday at 10 am at the SAI Sports Complex in Imphal.
