Students urged to generate their talents in sports

Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): Director Youth Resources and Sports Linda Solo, citing examples of the young Naga athletes who won medals for India in international level, urged the students to generate their talents in sports and games so that one day it will offer great career opportunity to become a successful sports person internationally.
Addressing the inaugural programme of the St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Chumukedima 19th annual games and sorts meet as chief guest, on Saturday, Solo encouraged the students to take games and sports not only as an extra curriculum but as a daily formal activity to enhance physical and social skills and promote educative values though games and sports.
Though sports and games should act as a pivotal role in promoting physical and social skills, Solo advised that students should not neglect their studies for without education life could be incomplete in many other ways.
Praising the students for showcasing their various talents at the programme, she congratulated the school authorities for successfully organizing sports and games meet which she found so mesmerizing and touched to witness the young talents.
Principal Rev. Fr. Sajan Joseph delivered a welcome note and Headmistress Rev. Sr. Anita proposed vote of thanks.
The gathering was enthralled with drill, folkdance and beatbox presented by the students.
The sports meet is set to continue for four days till September 27. The school also invited parents and well wishers to witness the events.
