Students urged to accept challenges as an opportunity

Dimapur, Sep. 8 (EMN): The subdivision police officer of Pfutsero Aotula Imchen has urged students to accept challenges as an opportunity and to understand the demand of their exams, get into a good study circle, and to cultivate good habits.
Addressing the a seminar on ‘Career Guidance and Skill Development’ at Pfutsero Govt. College on Sep.8, the officer stated career guidance to be very personal concept as different personalities will also trigger different career. She said career defines status and one has to work it out. She stressed on the principle of focus, strong decision and humility.

To define one’s own vocation, she said one should posses self awareness and distinguished one’s passion, interest, skills and find motivation.
In her final personal note she insinuated to always put God first and take risk with no fear but rather with consistency.

In the second session, Trainer Yangermongla I Pongen, NCDC Youth Net spoke on ‘Skills Development.’ She deliberated on three soft skills – listening, attitude and communication.

Pongen enlightened the gathering by making them to self examine the words listening and hearing.
She said attitude is another skill which every individual needs to reflect and pointed out that it comes in positive and negative attitudes. Having a positive attitude with confidence breed success, solution, loyalty and enhances responsibilities, she said.

Emphasizing on the communication skill, she said it demands not just the ability to convey but it is also the ability to captivate with immense self presence and interest.

The seminar was organized by the alumni association of the college in collaboration with Career Counseling and Placement Cell of Pfutsero Govt. College.
