Dimapur, May 17 (EMN): The additional deputy commissioner of Dimapur Sarah Jamir spoke at the ‘Uniconnect cum Dimapur Education Fair’ at Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Dimapur on Tuesday May 16. In her address to the students at the event, Sarah Jamir called upon the youngsters to look beyond white-collar jobs by standing on their own feet and contribute constructively to the society. Lauding the initiative of the organisers, Uniconnect, for organizing the fair to provide opportunities to the students to choose the right career with guidance, Jamir encouraged the students to take advantage of such opportunities and acquire proper guidance. Founder of Uniconnect, Steve Chophy who initiated the education fair said that the objective behind the two-day programme was to bring all stakeholders together on a platform and give students ‘right direction.’ Uniconnect’s education fair is to become an annual event, informed Chophy. It has collaborated with six universities and educational institutions. During the fair, interested students could have one-to-one counselling with representative of various University Grants Commission-accredited educational institutions, Chophy informed. The education fair is being supported by Department of Higher Education and YouthNet and will conclude on May 17.
