Dimapur, March 21 (EMN): Officer commanding of 5 Assam Rifles, C Company, Major Ishat Singh, motivated the students of to join the Indian armed forces and make their career which is revered by one and all. Maj. Singh stated this while delivering a ‘Lead talk on Indian armed forces’ organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) placement cell of Unity College for the students of BA and B.Com held in the college auditorium on March 16. Major Ishat enlightened the students into the intricate details of the Indian armed forces right from the opportunities for both male and female candidates, academies where candidates could train to be commissioned officers, process of application, life in the armed forces, and benefits during service in and after retirement from the armed forces. He also clarified questions on the educational qualifications, age limits, physical, mental and medical fitness of intending candidates. The programme was chaired by Mhonbeni Jami, dean of Unity College.
