Kohima/Dimapur, June 12 (EMN): Angami Catholic Youth Association of St. Francis De Sales Parish (ACYA SFS), Kohima town, Regimental School DEF Wokha (RSDEF Wokha), Northern Sumi Students’ Union (NSSU), and Kuki Christian Church Jalukie (KCCJ), felicitated the successful students of HSLC and HSSLC examinations, which was recently declared by Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE).

ACYA SFS: Angami Catholic Youth Association of St. Francis De Sales Parish (ACYA SFS), Kohima town facilitated successful HSLC and HSSLC candidates during a programme held in the parish on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Menguzelie Adrian has urged the youth to focus on alternate employment opportunities stating that jobs in the government sector have reached a saturation point. Urging the youth to have a strategic approach to career planning, he encouraged them to possess relevant employable skills.

Also speaking at the event, Keneisezo Thomas Belho, a Sociology postgraduate from St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama, highlighted the scope of entrepreneurship. Stating that there are ample of opportunities in the private sector, he said, “government jobs are not the only solution.”

While sharing about his journey on the launch of Kenbel bookmark, paper pencil, paper pen, paper colour pencil, which were made of environmentally friendly materials using paper, Belho asked the juniors to be focused on their innovations and ideas to enable them become independent.

The programme began with an invocation said by Nounenuo Magdalene, while the message from the Bible was shared by Keneilenuo Florence. A song was presented by the music committee of ACYA.

James Solo, ACYA president, informed that around 100 successful candidates including Angami students and those other tribes from SFS were facilitated.

Meanwhile, it was informed that ACYA will organise a youth camp at the Training Centre of Bharat Scouts and Guides in Nerhema from June 24 to the 26th.

RSDEF Wokha: Regimental School DEF Wokha felicitated the successful students of HSLC 2022 during a programme held at the school auditorium on June 10.

Speaking on the occasion, the superintendent of police, Wokha, Menangmeren, encouraged the students to keep their ambition high and work hard to achieve their goal in life. He urged the teachers to guide the students in the right direction and continue serving the community with dedication and commitment. He has assured all possible help and assistance towards the school.

The officer also gave away cash awards and certificates to all the successful candidates.

Awards to subject teachers where the students scored distinction were also felicitated on the occasion. Altogether, seven students who appeared were declared qualified. This is the second year in a row where the school attained 100% pass result.

NSSU: Northern Sumi Students’ Union (NSSU) felicitated successful HSLC and HSSLC candidates during a programme held at Tourist Lodge conference hall in Dimapur on June 9.

The guest speaker and junior engineer of PWD (R&B), Atoka Yeptho motivated the students to consistently strive in order to achieve their goals. He also urged the students to have a big vision and also develop skills as per their interest.

Meanwhile, NSSU president, P Samuel Chophy, felicitated four doctorate degree holders from Northern Sumi area namely Dr. Likali T Achumi, Dr. Liza G Kiba, Dr. Alivi V Chishi and Dr. Tovika Chishi. He congratulated them on their success and for bringing laurels to the Northern Sumi in particular and Sumis in general.

A total of 65 students from HSLC and HSSLC were felicitated by NSSU education secretary, Topika I Kiho.

KCCJ: The management committee of Kuki Christian Church, Jalukie town, has felicitated the successful candidates of HSLC and HSSLC on June 12.

Speaking at the programme, the KCK chairman, Seminngam, congratulated the successful students and advised them to choose their career wisely, an update from the church stated.

Presentation to meritorious students was done by the church secretary. Speech on behalf of the successful candidates was delivered by Chimtinmang, a class 12 (Arts) of GHSS Jalukie, who scored distinction in three subjects. Parents of the successful candidates also spoke on the occasion.

Prayer of blessings and thanksgiving was said by Rev. N Simte and motivated the students to always rely on God and to be sincere in studies.
