The ‘Black Badge Campaign’ to show resentment against the Disturbed Area Act (DAA) was carried out in Dimapur today under the aegis of the Central Nagaland Students’ Association (CNSA). The campaign was endorsed by The Tenymi Students of Dimapur.
The campaign started off at 7 in the morning and concluded at 10 am covering the main areas of Dimapur town. Western Sumi Students Union organised the campaign at Purana Bazar, Ao Students Union Dimapur at DC court junction, Lotha Students Union at City Tower, Dimapur Sumi Students Union at Delux Point and Tenymi Students Union Dimapur at Khermahal.
The CNSA members said that the campaign received a good response from the people. They claimed that many people took part in the campaign.
The banner of the campaign read as “The Peoples of Nagaland demand the govt. of India to repeal ‘Disturbed Area Act’ from Nagaland.”
The campaigners also used placards which read ‘Imponer’ forcing someones will upon others, ‘Go back Indian Army’, ‘Don’t disturb our land/ don’t stain our land’, ‘We want peace not insecurity’,etc. Hundreds of people participated at the programme.
