Students body to organise March to Guwahati for Autonomous State demand

Diphu, August 24 (EMN): Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) and Dimasa Students’ (DSU) will organise March to Guwahati in order to pressurise the concern authority for Autonomous State demand on 28 August at Dighalipukhuri Guwahati.
The demands of the students organisations includes withdrawal of clause-8 of BLT Accord (No ST( H) status to Bodos before granting Autonomous state; to stop imposition of Assamese language in the Hills area (not repeat 1960 Assamese language Act) ; oppose political TET; SIU and PIU in the hill district; no to compulsory Sanskrit language in Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasoa; resolve border dispute problem immediately; deport influx “outsider illegal” citizen from the land of hills district; reservation of 95% MAC seat in Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and Dima Hasao Autonomous Council area for hill tribals; hand over law and order and Police department to Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasoa Council; 100 % reservation for ST(H) in educational institutions and employment in KAAC and DHAC and the Assam government must constitute CBI enquiry on corruption under all the departments of KAAC and DHAC. The organisations further said that during the programme they will submit memorandum to India Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. While talking to Eastern Mirror, President KSA, Simeon Rongphar informed that after a gap of 17 years the students organisations have come together in one for the common cause that is the Autonomous State. In 1986 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between KSA, DSU and Government of Assam and Government of India.
“They worked together till 1995 since then they have separated from each other due to the intervention of external forces to weakening the struggle movement. But this time sit-in demonstration will be the first jointly organise programme after agap of 17 years”, added Rongphar.
Meanwhile he also mentioned that the BJP government has betrayed towards the people of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao. He said the BJP national leaders like L. k Advani, Amit Shah and Nitin Gadkhari visited in karbi Anglong during the public meeting in various places and assured if BJP comes to power implementation of Article 244(A) of the Indian constitution, the Autonomous State will be given more important but after BJP victory in Central, State and even in KAAC government they pay no heed towards the implementation of 244(A) Autonomous State.
Tuliram Ronghang led KAAC BJP government have said that development was the first agenda of the government whereas it is visible that imposition of language in the district bring unpleasant towards the tribal people, alleged Rongphar.
Karbi Nimso Chingthur Asong, Dimasa Women Society, students and youth council, women council, All India Students Association and Students youth for justice will also take part in the sit in demonstration programme informed Rongphar.
