Kohima, May 1 (EMN): Tsütuonuomia Students’ Union (TSU) of Kohima village has celebrated the silver jubilee of its night tuition centre on the theme “treading the right path of better education” this evening at T Khel indoor stadium. To mark the occasion, the union has announced a year-long celebration by organising various activities.
Speaking on the occasion, treasurer of T Khel Gazetted Officers’ Association, Neituolie Phewhuo, has urged upon the students’ community to respect and honour their parents and elders so that with their blessings they would achieve many extraordinary things in their lives.
Sounding a note of caution to young people to be careful against influence of bad habits and the love of money that destroy ones’ life and society, he advised them to maintain good health and habits to excel in their academic performance. Phewhuo also urged the gathering to be generous in donating lands for any developmental activities with broader mind so as to take the society forward.
He also observed on the requirement for more playgrounds for the children to explore in the field of sports, which forms an integral part in their overall development. He also lauded the effort of the pioneers of night tuition centre, which gave opportunity to many students to study and do well.
Extending jubilee greetings, convenor of organising committee, Kevisevolie Solo, expressed his delight in which the students’ union has reached another milestone worth mentioning and worth celebrating in the field of education development.
While opining that the beginning might not be easy, he expressed happiness that the pioneers and leaders had sowed the seed for the existing generations to reap and enjoy it. He also reminded that jubilee is a time to retrospect and look forward for brighter tomorrow.
Solo has sought the cooperation from everyone to make the jubilee a meaningful and fruitful celebration.
