Dimapur, Nov. 10 (EMN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has appealed to the authorities of Nagaland University (NU) to re-examine its tentative routine for undergraduate exams.

In a letter to the vice chancellor of NU, the union stated that examination routine should be student-friendly ‘unlike the recently declared exam routines, which is herculean in nature’.

Citing the revised University Grants Commission academic calendar, the union stated that the exams for the 1st, 3rd and 5th semester undergraduate students could be conducted in March, 2021.

“…the ANCSU place on record that, as per our findings, physical mode of examination is discouraged for the forthcoming examination. It will be appreciated if the possibility to conduct online exams can be thought upon as the situation remains inconducive.

“The ANCSU indubitably agree to the fact that in any circumstances the quality of education should not be compromised, for which act, the union harmonise with the university in academic activities that will ensure meritocracy. While we battle this unprecedented pandemic, we must also put on utmost priority the safety of the colleges’ fraternity,” it added, and urged the university to assess the prevailing situation and the revised UGC academic calendar.
