Student organisations hold literary programme in Kohima

KOHIMA — The Lhisemia Students’ Union (LSU) and Tsütuonuomia Students’ Union (TSU) held their annual literary day programme on Saturday by organising competition in various events.

The LSU held its 5th annual literary day at Khedi Baptist Higher Secondary School in Kohima village on the theme ‘A kaleidoscope of young talent’ with the deputy director of Industries and Commerce, Yawelie Noudi, as the special guest.

In his address, Noudi expressed that true learning involves holistic development and investing in skills and transcend beyond the classroom and examinations.

He added that learning involves engaging in writing, public speaking, art and music which could enhance academic performances by fostering creativity including critical thinking and building confidence.

He viewed that every individual has the potential and unique talents that could impact and contribute towards society.

LSU president, Dziesekhrietuo Khruomo, delivered the welcome address, while a song was presented by the cultural group and an invocation prayer was said by Rev. Vichülie Kelio, pastor of Christian Revival Church, Kohima.

In the solo singing competition, Neisemenuo Kesiezie secured the first prize, while Thejasezo Miachieo and Pelevinuo Dzüvichü secured second and third prizes respectively.

In solo instrumental competition, Nouneser Sorhie won the first prize, while, Ruovituonuo Kesiezie and Rüütuonuo Kratsütsu secured second and third prizes respectively.

In spelling bee (English), Sedekhonuo Vizo won the first prize, while Vipetsü Sorhie and Dziesesazo Yhome won the second and third prizes respectively. Also in spelling bee (Tenyidie), Rüütuonuo Kratsütsu won the first prize, while Kekhrieneinuo Vizo and Ketoukhrielie Linyü won the second and third prizes respectively.

In the debate competition, Kekhrievor Dzüvichü won the first prize, while Visaleü Mepfhüo and Mhasisanuo Liezietsu won the second and third prizes respectively.

In extempore speech, Kekhrievor Dzüvichü won the first prize, while Vikesonuo Vizo and Keduovinuo Sorhie won the second and third prizes respectively.

In the elocution competition, Neiketoulie Mepfhüo won the first prize, while Chathakhrienuo Liezietsu and Zhavinuo Noudi won the second and third prizes respectively.

In the painting competition, Neilakieü Mepfhüo won the first prize, while Thepfukuolie Liezietsu and Peteneizo Suokhrie won the second and third prizes respectively.

In sketching competition, Rüdivilie Suokhrie won the first prize, while Keduosielie Mepfhüo and Zeneizhünuo Janet Dzúvichü won the second and third prizes respectively.

In the drawing (A-B) competition, Lhousonuo Kesiezie won the first prize, while Kelhousatuo Sorhie and Zayieneinuo Issabella Yhome won the second and third prizes respectively.

In the drawing (1-4), Deborah Linyü won the first prize, while Ruokuongunuo Miachieo and Visakuonuo won the second and third prizes respectively.

In essay (Tenyidie), Khrivosanuo Yhome won the first prize, while Kethosinuo Yhome and Khriengusanuo Khruomo won the second and third prizes respectively.

In essay writing (English), Metevinuo Dzüvichü won the first prize, while Sedekhonuo Andrina Vizo and Keduovinuo Sorhie won the second and third prizes respectively.

In the quiz competition, Menuokhotuo Vizo, Visanyü Liezietsu and Kikrukhrienuo Vizo won the first prize.

In a related programme, the Tsütuonuomia Students’ Union (TSU) held its 7th annual literary day with Asano Sekhose, chairperson of Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), as the special guest. The event was organised as part of its 75th anniversary celebration-cum-felicitation of HSLC and HSSLC.

In her speech, Sekhose appreciated the efforts of TSU for their vision in holding and leading the students through various platforms. She stated that through such platform, students would be able to sharpen their literary and artistic talents.

She also congratulated all the successful candidates of HSLC and HSSLC examination 2024 from T-Khel and encouraged them to continue to work hard with determination and sincerity.

In the solo singing completion, Kethonuo Sekhose won the first prize, while Avibou Belho and Seyievinuo Belho won the second and third prizes respectively.

In elocution competition, Mengunuo Sekhose won the first prize, while Mhalesanuo Belho and Neiprunuo Sekhose won the second and third prizes respectively.

In the debate competition, Thejasenuo Belho won the first prize, while Saneinuo Solo won the second prize and the third prize was shared jointly by Khriezer Belho and Kekhriengunuo.

In essay writing (English) competition, Thejasenuo Belho won the first prize, while Kethovi Whuorie and Mengusenuo Belho won the second and third prizes respectively. Also in essay writing (Tenyidie), Keneisevor Belho won the first prize, while Vikeyienuo Solo and Kekhriesetuo Solo won the second and third prizes respectively.

In painting competition, Thejalhoulie Sudhu won the first prize, while Kevineinuo Solo and Kekhrielenuo Belho won the second and third prizes respectively.

In sketching competition, Mengulenuo Belho won the first prize, while Neilhou Belho and Avime Belho won the second and third prizes respectively.

In solo instrumental competition, Kethonuo Sekhose won the first prize, while Mhaphruokhrie Belho and Neingurienuo Emily Solo won the second and third prizes respectively.

In spelling bee (English) competition, Viketuonyü Zatsu won the first prize, while Vikevienuo Solo and Neizopralie Whuorie won the second and third prizes respectively. Additionally in spelling bee (Tenyidie) competition, Viketuonyü Zatsu won the first prize, while Vikevienuo Solo and Medovituo Whuorie won the second and third prizes respectively.

In extempore speech competition, Thesenuo Belho won the first prize, while Kekhriengunuo Solo and Zekhotsolie Belho won the second and third prizes respectively.

In the quiz competition, Viketounyü Zatsu and Kethovi Whuorie won the first prize, while Keneisevor Belho and Kekhriesetuo Solo won the second prize.
