Strong rooms sealed in Kohima, Chümoukedima

DIMAPUR — Following conclusion of the Lok Sabha electoral process on April 19, the strong room at DC’s office in Kohima containing the polled EVMs have been securely sealed on the same day in anticipation of the upcoming counting process.

Personnel present during the sealing were Kreho Athili, micro observer authorised by general observer for Kohima district; P Ramesh; deputy commissioner (DC) and district election officer (DEO) of Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant; and concerned AROs along with representatives from INC and NDPP, stated a DIPR report.

It stated that authorities have taken meticulous measures to safeguard the strong room by employing stringent security protocols and surveillance to prevent any unauthorided access or tampering. It added that the sealed strong room would remain under constant monitoring until the scheduled counting day on June 4.

In similar event, the assistant election officers (AEO) and additional deputy commissioners (ADC), Dr. Kuzonyi Wideo and James Swu, sealed the strong rooms of EVM receipt and dispatch counter at DC’s office complex in Chümoukedima on April 19.

The sealing of strong room was carried in the presence of DEO and DC of Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam, observer Avinash Chauhan, and concerned officers of 4 Ghaspani-l and 5 Ghaspani-ll AC under Chümoukedima district.
