Kohima, March 19 (EMN): A one-day fitness class with Tarun Khurana, a professional fitness trainer, as resource person was organised at Spartan Gym at P Khel on Friday evening in Kohima.

During the interactive session, which was attended by strongmen, wrestlers, body builders, and other fitness enthusiasts, Khurana advised them to be “consistent” in their workout while adapting with the gym equipment.

‘If they want to see changes in their anatomy, they should also be “calculative” in their food intake,’ he added.

Khurana, who had trained different clients including sportspersons and athletes in Delhi, said that fitness is not only about keeping one’s body fit; many people hit the gym to help beat their depression or overcome critical phases of their lives.

Maintaining how different clients with different goals come to the gym, he said proper diet, good rest and “strong mind” are a must while working out.

“You should understand the surplus and deficit of your food,” said Khuran, who is also the proprietor of Dumbbell&Scissor Gym in Dimapur.

He also shared about the importance of taking high-fibre food for those who want to lose weight, while advising that such people can take small meal for five or six times a day to avoid overeating. He also cautioned about use of anabolic steroids.

Advising not to imitate various fitness activities on social media platforms, he said people’s living conditions, intake of food, environment etc. differs from place to place. “Knowledge will come only when you go to the field,” he added.

Vizovolie Rame, proprietor and instructor of Spartan Gym, informed that some gyms in Nagaland, including his were set up after taking inputs from Khurana, who has been into fitness industry for two decades.
