Dimapur/Kohima, May 11 (EMN): Following the Nagaland government’s decision to extend the inter-district travel period within the state, 1657 persons left for their respective home districts from Dimapur on Monday.
It was reported that a total of 457 passengers left for Zunheboto on 15 buses; 14 buses carrying 389 passengers to Mokokchung; nine buses with 290 passengers to Mon; three buses with 73 passengers to Tuensang; and four buses with 116 passengers to Longleng; seven buses with 210 passengers to Kiphire; three buses with 69 passengers to Phek; and two buses with 53 passengers to Wokha.
In the state capital Kohima, 956 more stranded persons left for their respective home districts on Monday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa said that 956 passengers left for Mon, Tuensang, and Kiphire in 33 buses from local ground on Monday morning. Out of the total passengers, 395 will head to Mon in 13 buses, 309 to Tuensang in 11 buses, and 252 to Kiphire in nine buses.
Meanwhile, a total number of 3661 persons were transported from Kohima to other districts from May 7 to May 11. As many as 125 buses had ferried those persons to their respective home districts. The inter-district movements will continue for another two days, till May 13.
