Kohima, April 30 (EMN):
Switching to music, tuning to Netflix or playing online games and Ludo apart from attending household chores and personal work are some activities people from Nagaland stranded outside do to spend their time during the nationwide lockdown imposed to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.

Justina Belho, who works at a casino cruise in Goa, told Eastern Mirror that apart from attending to daily room chores, she plays some online games like chess and carom.

To avoid being locked inside and starve, Belho said she at times go to groceries to get her necessities but not without the fear of coronavirus. In order to get her necessities, Belho added that she has to put on gloves and mask while maintaining social distancing and hand sanitised to grab her items hastily as only ten minutes was given to each customer.

Belho stated that seven persons in Goa, who had travel history from abroad recently, were tested positive for Covid-19 but now they are cured. “We are free for now,” she said adding they still adhere to strict guidelines in Goa.

As for Ketoulhuno (27), a senior cabin crew at an international airline, she is keeping herself engaged in those sessions and meetings conducted by her airline through Zoom.

She informed that through video conferencing, the cabin crew members are currently undergoing further training on safety, first-aid and servings. She added that they were imparted training on the safety measures against Covid-19 as those measures are essential when the flight resume its service.

A Bengaluru-based air hostess shared that she finds time to relax by playing Ludo too. Informing on reports how the other flight attendants were getting frustrated living alone especially in those Covid-19 infected areas, she considered herself lucky enough to be staying peacefully with her brother and other companions together in Bangalore.

Seyiekhrietuo Kire (24), who works at a salon and spa and lives at an accommodation with other four friends in Rajasthan, said he plays the guitar and resort to Mobile Legends (ML) to beat boredom. “I play the guitar and I also play ML and PUBG whenever I get bored,” he shared.

Kire also shared that the girls, who work in the same establishment and also putting up in the same accommodation, are switching more to hip hop videos, Korean dramas and movies on Netflix through their phones.

Anie Alice Hoshi (30), another hairdresser at a reputed and government recognised salon in Mumbai, stated that Netflix is helping her a lot. “I spend most of my time on Netflix,” she said. “Cooking, eating, washing, bathing is all I can do now,” she added.

However, with the lockdown, she is also finding more time with her family members and friends through phone calls. Hoshi said she is now able to get the time and connected with all her long-lost friends through calls. Hoshi added that the Covid-19 lockdown has helped her come closer to God. “I pray and read at least one Bible verse every day,” she said.

David Longkumer (26), who works at Cafe Alabina Lounge in Madhya Pradesh, also shared that he is spending time by playing boredom-busting games like Ludo and Candy Crush too along with his other two friends.

Mughai Achumi (26), another hairdresser who also stays with two other friends in Delhi, said currently they are staying idle at home. He shared that the friends are having breakfast in the evening and dinner in the morning.

“These days we are staying idle and sleep around 7 am in the morning and wakes up around 3 – 4 pm,” he said humorously.

Achumi also shared that the trio does karaoke together, play ML and PUBG and also find time to remember God too.
