Sofia, June 14 (IANS): Bulgarian football great and 1994 Ballon d'Or winner Hristo Stoichkov presented here on Wednesday his book "How to Win in Football: 88 Tips from Number 8".
Stoichkov, who wearing a number 8 jersey scored 118 goals for Johan Cruyff's FC Barcelona "Dream Team" in the 1990s, said the book was based on his personal experience, reports Xinhua news agency.
The tricks in the book were among his weapons and gave him an edge during his career, Stoichkov said at the presentation, which was attended by hundreds of children.
It was important for the new generation to learn a bit more about the experience of previous great players and to choose the important points, Stoichkov said.
The one who reads wins, the one who does not read does not win, Stoichkov, who scored 37 goals in 83 matches for Bulgaria, said jokingly.
During the event that took place near the National Palace of Culture, the 51-year-old Stoichkov also taught practical lessons on how to execute a penalty.
