Statehood Day: Acharya pledges economic growth

Dimapur, Nov. 30 (EMN): On the occasion of Statehood Day, Governor PB Acharya has asserted the Nagaland government’s commitment to make the state economically strong and “march with jet-speed to be in tune with other states of the country.” Nagaland will celebrate its 55th Statehood Day on Saturday, Dec. 1. In a speech sent to the local newspapers on the eve of historic occasion, Acharya extended warm greetings to the people of Nagaland. “Equal development should be the goal of both central and state government for a strong nation. The central government has made a thrust in this direction to make every corner of the country to progress equally. On this day we take a pledge, with more than three lakh graduates out of 20 lakh population, to make our state economically strong and march with jet speed to be in tune with other states of the country,” he stated.
