Dimapur, Sep. 5 (EMN): Advisor of Social Welfare, Home Guards and Civil Defence, Noke Wangnao, will launch Poshan Maah 2019–a holistic nutrition campaign for healthier women and children–at the Heritage, Kohima, on September 6 at 8 am as the special guest. The programme will include taking Poshan pledge, flag off rally and award ceremony, stated a DIPR report on Thursday.
Meanwhile, a meeting on Poshan Maah was conducted at ADC office, Medziphema, on September 4.
Speaking at the meeting, CDPO Tsungrosongla urged all the Block Convergence Plan for Committee (BCPC) to support the holistic nutrition campaign as September is celebrated as Rashtriya Poshan Maah month and also pointed out the need to sensitise people regarding the importance of nutrition. She also highlighted the objectives and importance of Poshan Maah.
The members discussed on the action plan for Poshan Maah, how implementing departments should carry out the activities and spread the message during the month.
EAC Sentilila Ozukum urged all the members to co-ordinate for the successful celebration of Poshan Maah.
The members have decided to organise a Poshan rally on September 7, awareness camps for pregnant mothers and girls on September 13, anaemia screening camp on September 18 and Poshan mela on September 27 respectively.
