Dimapur, Nov. 17 (EMN): Nagaland is all set to launch Intensified Mission Indradhanush 2.0 (IMI) from December 2019 to March 2020. This was announced during the one-day workshop held in Peren and Phek districts.
The workshop on Intensified Mission Indradhanush 2.0 and measles elimination and Rubella control was held at the conference hall of CHC Jalukie in Peren district on November 15 and 16.
The workshop on November 15 was conducted by Dr. Nukshisangla Jamir, DPO UIP/RCH, while on November 16 the workshop was conducted by Dr. Sheila, SMO WHO, and Dr. Nukshisangla Jamir, DPO UIP/RCH, stated an update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO) stated on Sunday.
Delivering the keynote address on Intensified Mission Indradhanush 2, Dr Nukshisangla highlighted on key activities, micro planning including headcount exercise, monitoring and supervision, recording and reporting, communication plan, and importance of task force/ review meetings including participation of other departments and way forward.
She also updated on AFP- MR surveillance and progress in MR elimination and HRA reprioritisation using surveillance data, district weekly review meetings.
Dr. Sheila highlighted about the global and national update and way forward on measles elimination and rubella control, basics of AFP- MR surveillance- logical expansion and sensitisation, revised outbreak response protocol, practical exercise on MR-CFI filling and ACS visits, MR surveillance monitoring indicators and data analysis and RI strengthening for MR elimination including TF/ review meeting.
The workshop was attended by district programme officers, medical officers, nurses, pharmacist, vaccinators, block programme managers, block ASHA coordinators, and IEC personnel.
In a related programme, Phek district task force on immunisation held its meeting on November 16 at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner, Phek, in the presence of Tsuktimar Jamir, ADC Phek; Bhavani, SDO Phek; and representatives from school education and social welfare departments.
Dr. Kolhitso Khalo, DPO RCH/UIP, highlighted the members on the upcoming intensified mission Indradhanush 2.0, which would be carried out from December 2019 to March 2020. He also briefed the house on the status of immunisation in Phek district and shared the challenges faced in immunisation.
He urged the administration and allied departments to give supports during the IMI 2.0 to achieve 100% coverage.
