Dimapur, June 15:Union Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju, has assured to include Nagaland state under modernization of prison and also assist the State in setting up modern jail.
Kiren Rijiju conveyed this to the State Parliamentary Secretary of Jails, Science & Technology, S Hukavi Zhimomi, when the latter met the Union Minister at his North Block Office, New Delhi, on June 15.
During a brief meeting, Hukavi Zhimomi, had apprised Union Minister on matters pertaining to the pathetic conditions of the only Central Jail and other district jails in the State. He highlighted the Union Minister on the need for proper infrastructure and basic facilities like installation of CCTV, setting up of women jail, medical cell and modern prison in the State.
After a patient hearing, the Union Minister assured to include Nagaland state under modernization of prison and also assist the State in setting up modern jail.
