The Department of State Taxes in Dimapur conducted field inspections to check GST compliance and educate traders.

DIMAPUR — The Department of State Taxes, Dimapur Unit, carried out a field inspection on July 13 and 14 across various business establishments in the Dimapur district to strengthen Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance.
According to a DIPR report, the inspection aimed to promote awareness among traders and vendors and verify business activities at the ground level.
The inspection was conducted by a team of officers led by the Deputy Commissioner of State Taxes Chievitshu Nyuthe, following an authorisation issued by the Office of the Commissioner of State Taxes, Nagaland, under Section 67 of the Nagaland Goods and Services Tax (NGST) Act, 2017.
During the inspection, the officials verified the issuance of GST bills and invoices by registered vendors, conducted stock verification, reviewed business activities, and examined GST registration details to ensure compliance with the provisions of the NGST Act. The team also interacted with business owners to clarify GST-related queries and encouraged voluntary tax compliance.
