Plea to release W/C employees salaries
The Joint Inter Departmental Association has requested the State government to release five months pending salaries as W/C employees are facing untold difficulties due to non receipt of their pay in the last five months. The W/C employees are from the departments of PWD (R&B) and Housing, PHED, Police Engineering Project, Industries & Commerce, Inrrigation & Flood Control, Mechanical, Urban development and Education.

IRCS sanitation drive
The Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch will be conducting sanitation drive at Kohima town from 6 am on August 8.
Therefore, the society has requested request all the patrons, vice-patrons, life members and well wishers to participate in the same.
Interested members can assemble at Red Cross complex, Kohima at 5.30 am on August 8.

MK Mero to grace interactive seminar
Commissioner & Secretary, IPR department, MK Mero will grace the interactive seminar of journalists, media professionals and dignitaries of the society on “Promoting Peace & Harmony for Development – Role of Media”. The seminar is being organized by Brahma Kumari’s Kohima Centre at Zonal Council Hall, Kohima from 10 am on August 3.
Aim and objective of the seminar will be delivered by national media coordinator, Brahma Kumaris, Delhi, BK Sushan, key note speech by journalist and national coordinator, Society of Media, Prof. Kamal Dixit and speech by HQRS media coordinator, Mount Abu, BK Shantanu. Interaction with the invitees will be one of the highlights of the programme.

Phek town mass social work preponed
The mass social work in and around Phek town scheduled for August 10 has been preponed to August 8. The Deputy Commissioner Phek has therefore informed all heads of offices, institutions, GBs, colony chairmen and youth chairmen to participate in the social work.

P Longon visits GHSS Noklak
Deputy Chairman, State Planning Board Nagaland, P. Longon had a brief meeting with the board members of Government Higher Secretary School, Noklak at GHSS on July 28. ADC Noklak, SDO (C) and president of KTC also attended the meeting. In the meeting, P. Longon shared his desire to construct the GHSS building on priority basis under NEC proposal. He also gave his assurance to construct staff quarters and fence of the school during this financial year. He further requested the teaching staff to be a committed for uplifting the educational quality in the area. Principal GHSS delivered the vote of thanks. Later, P. Longon and the board members inspected the school site.

Delinking 10 + 2 level in Phek Govt College
The department of Higher & Technical Education has notified that in partial modification of its earlier order dated 01.05.2013, the physical de-linking of secondary classes (10+2 level) from colleges will not apply in Arts stream in Phek Government College for the academic session 2013-14 only.

Dimapur teachers informed
SDEO Dimapur S Atomi Swu has informed all the teachers (G/T, P/T and H/T) who have applied for PRAN w.e.f. March 1, 2013 onwards to submit one blank cheque each through their respective head teacher/teacher in-charge while collecting A-Roll for the month of July, 2013 on or before August 10, 2013.

M Sc Geology admission
The department of Geology, Nagaland University will conduct a written test for admission into 1st semester of M Sc Geology programme 2013-15. Head of the department Dr Santosh K Singh has informed all the eligible candidates to appear in the written test/interview on August 6 in the Kohima Campus, Meriema, of the university.
