NSF office to be closed
On account of the festive season, the office of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) will remain closed from December 23 and will re-open on January15, 2014 next, the NSF in a release stated. The Federation has further wished a Merry Christmas and a Happy New 2014 to all well-wishers.

ORSU conference from Dec 27
The 59th general conference of the Old Riphyim Students’ Union will be held from December 27 – 28 with Ms Zuthunglo, Assistant Conservator of Forest and Renthungo Tungoe UDA in the office of the Chief Engineer, Power Depaartment gracing the occasion, under the theme – ‘Establish your goal and priorities’.The union has requested all concerned to pray for the success of the ceference.

SSU general session
The Solomi Students Union will have its 46th general session from December 26-28 under the theme ‘Contemplating the past, confronting the future’ with T Sophu, executive chairman, GBs Union Sub-division as chief guest at the inaugural session and Roland Throngchimthong, former president, SVSU as guest of honour in the veledictory function. The union has informed all the village students to attend the conference.

ESU annual conference
The Elumyo Students Union (ESU) is organizing its 55th annual conference from December 27 to 28at 10 am at community hall with Athungo Lotha, Sr Computer programmer, Finance Dept Govt. of Nagaland , Kohima and Mhonchumo S Lotha, academic dean, Kohima Bible College as chief guest and guest of honour respectively. The union has invited all ESU members, senior and former leaders and well wishers to attend the conference positively.

64th OCSU annual session
The 64th annual session of Old Changsu Students’ Union (OCSU) would be held on December 28 under the theme ‘Students, a role model in the society’ with T Thungbemo Patton, Women Dev Officer (WDO) Dept of Women Dev, Kohima, Nagaland and Aben Lotha UBSI (2nd OC) wokha Police Station as theme speaker. Students who nhad passed Class-10 & 12 with grade-A, are asked to submit their admit cards marksheets to the union office on or before December 26 for meritorious award. Further, the OCSU has invited all students and elders to attend the session.

Kidima CYA jubilee concludes
The grand finale celebration of Kidima Catholic Youth Association, KCYA silver jubilee was held today with Bishop of Kohima, Rev Dr James Thoppil as the main celebrant. The grand finale celebration begun with the blessing and unveiling of jubilee monolith at the church premises by the Bishop of Kohima followed by High Mass which was held at the Village Council Hall. Addressing the proceeding, Bishop Thoppil said jubilee is not only a time for celebration but also a time to look forward. He urged the youth not to become complacent on attaining 25 years but become mechanism of development. The Bishop said that the youth should draw inspiration from the jubilee which, he said, is prove that God is working among the youth. The Bishop also blessed and congratulated the new office team of KCYA. The celebration concluded with a grand feast.

ACWA convention
The 20th convention of Angami Catholic Women Association (ACWA) will be held at Khonoma village from January 3-5 2014 under the theme “Overcome Evil with Good” with Rev James Thoppil Bishop of Kohima and Rev Fr Jacob Parish Priest of Khonoma as Main Celebrants during Holy Mass. The convention will be addressed by following speakers on various topics: Very Rev Fr Neisalhou Carolus; Rev Fr Alex Vizo; Rev Sr Medokono Margaret and Rev Fr Avilhou Stephen. Main highlights of the convention also include adoration, healing sessions and folk tune competitions.

Lower Chandmari colony advent Christmas
The Lower Chandmari Colony celebrated Advent Christmas cum musical nite on December 20 at T Junction waiting Shed, Kohima. The function also included launching out new ‘Sanitation Vehicle’ and the Colony youth enthralled the gathering with touching musical items. Earlier the programme was lead by Tokali, president women organization, welcome addressed by Lhouliebei-o Khezhie. Pastor Niese pronounced invocation while Impa Longkumer shared Christmas greetings. P Sitlhou gave brief report of sanitation and Shenato Assumi B.D student UBC Pune dedicated vehicle. Annual block wise cleaning and decoration prizes gave away by chairman panchayat and Hoshito Assumi GB pronounced vote of thanks. The prizes were sponsored by Hoshito Assumi GB, Impa Longkumer and Er Lanu Akum. Meanwhile, the colony panchayat expressed gratitude to all the participants for the success of programme and wish Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year 2014 to all.

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR GREETINGS
MCD: The Muslim Council Dimapur extended Christmas and New Year Greetings to the people of Nagaland. In a press note, A Malik, geneneral secretary, MCD expressed hope that this Christmas would bring a new era of peace and brotherhood among the different sections of the people in Nagaland and the New Year would bring more prosperity and development. NPF Minority Cell: The NPF Minority Cell has also extended heartiest Christmas greetings and best wishes to the people of Nagaland. ‘On this very special occasion, we celebrate the birthday of Lord Jesus Christ with joy and enthusiasm, whose eternal and most valuable message of love, peace, tolerance and brotherhood continues to influence and inspire entire humanity. Let us dedicate ourselves to strengthen the unity and promote national integration and take our State to new heights of progress and prosperity’, Bishnu Bhattacharjee, president, NPF Minority Cell stated in a press note.
