GPRN/NSCN on sandstone extraction
The chairman Union Territory- I, GPRN/NSCN has directed all stones and sand gravels contractors not to extract stones and sand gravels, etc within half km within Chathe River Bridge near CIHSR/Referral Hospital, 4th Mile and Atu Ghoki (Zubza) between Niuland town and Hozukhe village as the two bridges are ‘about to collapse due to massive unchecked and random extraction of stones and sand gravels’ an MIP release stated and cautioned that the chairman UT- I, GPRN/NSCN would see that the ‘order’ is strictly implemented.

Idd Namaj at Dimapur
The Idd Ul Fitr 2013 Namaj will be held at Dimapur Iddgah Prayer Ground at Golaghat Road on August 9 at 8:15 am. This year Idul fitr prayer will be led by Maulana Fuzail Ahmed Sb. Pesh Iman Iddgah Jame Masjid, Dimapur, Nagaland, a press note from the Iddgah committee general secretary, AK Tapadar said. Meanwhile, the committee has also wished a Happy Idd to all and requested all to co-operative with the committee during Idd Namaj.

Naval recruitment drive
The Navy is conducting recruitment for the post of sailor (Class 12 science entry), cook, steward (Matric entry) and topass (Class 6 entry), at 19 Assam Rifles Ground in Kohima on September 27 next from 6 am onwards. A team from the Directorate of Manpower Planning & Recruitment (DMPR) of the Integrated HQ of Ministry of Defence (Navy) will conduct the recruitment drive, a PIB defence wing press release stated.

New Ministers’ Hill colony social work
The New Ministers’ Hill Panchayat will organise a mass social work on August 14 from 7 am onwards. A press note issued from the panchayat office said it would be mandatory for every household to send atleast a representative and cautioned with stern action/fines would be initiated in the event of failing to attend the social work. Further, residents are informed to work in their respective areas.

ENPUK audit
The ENPUK will have an audit for the year 2012-2013 on August 9 at 2 pm at its ‘treasury’. There will also be a joint meeting of the ENPUK and ENSUK office bearers in connection with the upcoming seminar programme on ‘Statehood Demand’ on August 10 at 2 pm at the same venue. Shokum Yim, finance secretary has requested all concerned to make for the two programmes positively.

DWO notifies on pension
The district welfare officer, Tulula Pongen has through a press note directed all the beneficiaries availing handicap pension, blind pension, IGNDPS and widow pension to collect their pensions from the office of the DWO/DPO 4th Mile with effect from Aug 12.

SAVSA rues over BDO’s transfer
The Suruhuto/Asuto VDB Secretaries Association (SAVSA) has rued over the transfer of Khehovi Yeptho, BDO, RD Block Suruhuto stating the transfer has affected ‘a great lost for the entire people of our area’. He has rendered his best service and contribution towards development activities in the past few years, a press note of the association appended Tokhevi Aye, Henito Aye and Kahuti Awomi, president, general secretary and joint secretary respectively.

KTBWU to organize seminar
The Kohima Town Baptist Women Union is organizing a seminar on August 10 at Minister’s Hill Baptist Church at 10 am to 1 pm with Rev Narola, secretary NBCCWD and Rev Dr Vevo Phesao, president KBPF, as resource persons. Kitoshi Kiba would lead the programme, a press note by Lucy Tep, president KTBWU stated and therefore requested all members to attend the program without fail.

CVYO not to entertain taxation
The Chiechama Village Youth Organisation (CVYO) has resolved not to entertain any kind of taxation on newly established business under Chiechama village jurisdiction. According to a press note jointly issued by Neisakholie Rupreo and Shurhosielie Metsieo, president and press secretary of CVYO respectively, the decision was arrived at following a meeting on July 30. It maintained that small business establishments like  grocery, stone crusher unit, panshop, etc have ‘limited scope of profit’ and therefore ‘struggling till date’.
