State reports 9 new Covid cases

Dimapur, Feb. 24 (EMN):
Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of nine fresh Covid-19 positive cases on Thursday, taking the state’s tally to 35,390 and active caseload to 152.

The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 33,007 with the recovery of 42 more patients in the last 24 hours.

The death toll remained unchanged at 750 with no fresh death reported on Thursday. 

According to data from the department of Health and Family Welfare, four positive cases were reported in Dimapur, three in Kohima and two in Phek.

Meanwhile, 15 recoveries were reported in Dimapur, 18 in Kohima, three in Phek, one in Tuensang and five in Wokha.

Out 152 active cases in the state, 137 are asymptomatic, 14 mild and one in ICU on ventilator.

In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 96 infections, 23 in Kohima, eight in Mokokchung, seven each in Peren and Phek, six in Tuensang, two in Mon and one each in Kiphire, Wokha and Longleng, while Zunheboto is currently Covid-19 free.

14k new cases in India

India logged 14,148 new coronavirus infections on Thursday, taking the tally of Covid-19 cases to 4,28,81,179, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

The death toll climbed to 5,12,924 with 302 fresh fatalities, the data stated.

Meanwhile the active cases dipped to 1,48,359, with the recovery of  30,009 patients in the last 24 hours.

With the administration of more than 30.49 lakh (30,49,988) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 176.52 crore (1,76,52,31,385).
