Dimapur, Jan. 9 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of six fresh Covid-19 positive cases on Sunday, taking the tally to 32, 270, while active caseload stands at 81.
The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 30,405 with four more patients having recuperated in the last 24 hours.
The death toll stands at 687 with no Covid deaths reported on Sunday.
According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, six positive cases were reported from Kohima, while four in Dimapur recovered.
Out 81 active cases in the state, 67 are asymptomatic, 12 mild, one moderate on oxygen, and one severe on oxygen.
In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 70 active cases, eight in Kohima, two in Mokokchung and one in Tuensang while, Wokha, Kiphire, Peren, Phek, Mon, Zunheboto and Longleng are currently Covid-free.
India logs 1, 59, 632 new cases
India reported 1,59,632 new coronavirus infections on Sunday, the highest in 224 days, while the active cases increased to 5,90,611, according to the data from the union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
India logged 552 new cases of Omicron, taking the total tally of such infections to 3,623 across 27 states and UTs so.
Out of the total Omicron cases, 1,409 people have migrated or recovered.
Meanwhile, the death toll climbed to 4,83,790 with 327 fresh fatalities, the data stated.
40,863 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients is now at 3,44,53,603.
With the administration of more than 89 lakh doses (89,28,316) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 151.57 crore (1,51,57,60,645).
