State reports 3 new Covid cases, 1 death

Dimapur, March 17 (EMN):
Nagaland on Thursday reported three fresh Covid-19 cases, pushing the state’s tally to 35458.

The death toll increased to 754 with one more death reported in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the active cases declined to 39 with the recovery of 10 more patients in the last 24 hours.

Seven patients recovered in Dimapur and three in Mokokchung during the same period.

Data from the department of Health and Family Welfare informed that two cases in Dimapur and one in Mokokchung were reported on Thursday.

Out of the 39 active cases, 36 are asymptomatic, two mild and one moderate on oxygen.

In terms of district-wise distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 24 cases, 11 in Kohima, two in Mokokchung, and one each in Kiphire and Wokha, while Longleng, Mon, Peren, Phek, Tuensang and Zunheboto are currently Covid-free.

India reports 2,539 new cases

With 2,539 new coronavirus infections being reported in a day, India’s total tally of Covid-19 cases rose to 4,30,01,477, while the active cases have declined to 30,799, according to data from the Union Health Ministry on Thursday.

The death toll climbed to 5,16,132 with 60 daily fatalities, the data stated.

4,491 patients recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients is now at 4,24,54,546.

India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 180.80 crore(1,80,80,24,147).
