Nagaland reports 13 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death

Dimapur, July 28 (EMN): The number of COVID-19 active cases in Nagaland increased to 104 with 13 fresh infections detected on Thursday. The death toll increased to 764 with one fresh fatality recorded during the same period.

According to the update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, five fresh cases were reported in Kohima, three in Mon, two each in Dimapur and Zunheboto and one in Mokokchung in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of cases in the state to 35,751.

The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 33,378 with the recovery of six more patients in the last 24 hours, all form Kohima. 

Out of the 104 active cases, 53 are asymptomatic, 44 mild, five moderate on oxygen and two severe on ovygen.

In terms of district-wise distribution of active cases, Kohima has 43 cases, 30 in Dimapur, 11 in Mokokchung, six each in Wokha and Mon, three each in Longleng and Phek, two in Zunheboto while the remaining districts are currently COVID-free.

India logs 20,557 new cases

India on Thursday reported 20,557 new COVID-19 cases, a slight increase against the 18,313 infections registered the previous day, the Union Health Ministry said.

In the same period, there were 44 additional deaths which took the nationwide COVID death toll to 5,26,211.

The active caseload rose to 1,46,323, accounting for 0.33% of the country’s total positive cases.

The recovery of 19,216 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,32,86,787. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.47%.
